Blog of a sleepy dormouse
It’s the last episode of BBC’s Planet Earth series tomorrow (until Autumn)… I’ve been watching it avidly, as they truely do show stunning and unique footage of wildlife =D All narrated by the incomparable Sir David Attenborough, of course =)
Memorable scenes include slow-motion footage of a great white shark taking seal prey, crab-eating macaques swimming underwater, and a snow leopard hunting on an unbelievably steep slope… Much of the footage was thanks to a “heli-gimbal” camera (mounted on a helicopter, with a powerful zoom and 360 degree rotation) - which created images ranging from focusing in on individuals in a hunting pack of wild dogs 1km away, to drawing back to reveal the sheer size of animal migrations =)
Now we just have to wait until Autumn for the remaining 6 episodes =P
By the way, if like me you were wondering - the music on the trailer and adverts for Planet Earth is Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros. There’s a video here, and much to my delight the song is available on iTunes =D

I’ve somehow managed to be out for most Sundays, but I’m hoping to pick it up on DVD, as what I’ve seen has been fantastic.
