Slapton Ley

Happy Easter all! We went to Slapton Ley yesterday, and saw lots of nice birds including a Cetti’s warbler (which rather bizarrely seemed to have white wing bars), and a marsh harrier =D

The Cetti’s warbler song is very loud and distinctive (especially when it’s going on all around you), but you’ve got to love Simon Barne’s mnemonic for it: “Me? Cetti? If-you-don’t-like-it-fuck-off.” =D

Despite the boardwalks being closed, the walk was lovely… English Nature and Field Studies Council had put in some nice stuff, including carved wooden barriers - and a bird had very accurately added the finishing touches =P
