Concern over seal threat to fish
“Almost half of the fish passing under a Teesside bridge are being eaten by seals, a pilot study has found.”
That sounds quite worrying… until you read:
“The 21-day survey was carried out by tagging the progress of 18 fish.”
… Wow, what a large and representative sample size =P

omg!!!! so… 8 1/2 fish were eaten up in 21 days in the study eh??
shocking!!!!
it’s always good to find a statistically significant result which stands up to scrutiny, isn’t it?? hee hee ;))
Made me chuckle!
I am surprised they didnt tag 18 fish at the local aquarium to reduce the impact on the natural chain of events
How did they tag the fish? Did they catch them? If the fish are stupid enough to get caught, they’re stupid enough to get eaten
Hehe, it is indeed rather amusing! =P
Yes I’m not sure how they tagged the fish - hopefully not using those huge yellow tags, as that would just make the whole thing too silly =P
